An attack on Iran would most likely bring on  WW3.  Oh boy I can hardly wait.  We  have been doing the Iran is building a nuke for so many years now , that when it is mentioned we hardly look up from out Tweeter to think about the consequences.  Given the intricacies of relationships  Iran has with other world powers (think China and Russia) an attack on them could bring on WW3.

One has to think if China and Russia would risk a nuclear war to save Iran.  I would like to think that
they wouldn't but what I think probably don't count.  One must remember what drug Japan into WW2, when we cut off their supply of oil they had little choice but to jump in.  Seems like now we are gearing up for a similar  move.

If we or Israel did start an attack on Iran what are the chances that Iran's allies wouldn't start a nuclear war.  Considering it would probably be the end of the world hopefully they would let Iran be devastated. Meantime we just sit and wait for our genius leaders to pick their day.

A lot of us today have our checks electronically deposited int he bank where it immediately ceased to be your money.   Most of us have little money in the stock market, so our major resources are in banks..Own gold where is it stored?  In a lock box in the bank.. Bad news for you if a Cyprus type event happened it  becomes the banks money.

I owe you an example.. One man in Cyprus had all his retirement in one bank..(a million bucks) at least he had it when he went to bed.. When he woke up he had a lot less.  The banks in Cyprus were generous they let you keep the first $100,000 then took 63% of the rest.. Probably don't mean much to you and me, don't have a 100 K in the bank.  It's the principal of the thing that has me  pissed off this morning..

In looking around a little bit you discover  that this is actually a plan crafted by the G20 and is planned for the rest of us .  So they can recover all the funds lost by the banks trying  to recover their derivative the big guys money.  As derivative holders have been placed at the head of the line to get their money back.

We sit here and watch Europe and England being destroyed by these crooks and probably don't think about it happening here.   Ellen Brown thinks the same thing is planned for us and as said laid out by the G20 as the game plan for the world..

Of course their is a very simple fix to this mess.  Split the banks back to their original investment house and banks, leaving the derivative holders over on the investment side liable to eat their own foolishness.

A Cyprus style event theoretically wouldn't affect 90% of us as far as banks go.. but when the world crashed around the big boys it of course would fall on us..

We all have been educated and propagandized into believing capitalism is the only economic system that is right for our world..It has ran it's course more than once and has had to have it's reins pulled in  time or two.. After the great depression ground rules were changed and the good times rolled on for almost 50 years.. After WW2 when progressive politics instituted programs to help veterans get back to civilian life (GI bill that provided education and house loans to vets) the country sprang into life.. and ran hard for lots of years.

Beginning with the Regan years and a surge in conservative successes  began to chip away at the progress we had made up to that time... Unions are busted, wages are falling , jobs are shipped overseas, pension funds are stolen .  The end result being a country less and less solvent.

Now they tell us we are broke and of course the pheasants are being made to pay for the misdeed of the big boys.. Austerity they call it, dishonest is what it is.. They are in the process right now of finding ways to slash programs that help those less fortunate, even programs bought and paid for by the worker are on the table for cuts... No other answer is available , our lawmakers scream,, you gotta pay, you were bad and go us into this mess.. Never mind that's a load of bullshit they got their axes out and we will be made to pay.. But there are other means that are available as I have laid out in another post

Two recent shows on Bill Moyers and Co have had Richard Wolff (a Markist)  as guest showing us another way to run the ship.  Co-operative ownership and management of our own companies.. It's being done in Europe by Mondragon Companies and has spread to other countries slowly growing in popularity and success...

Here are the show's on  Bill Moyers  Show 1  Show  2.  If you follow this blog you probably have already seen show 1, show 2 shows Wolff answering viewer question after show 1.. He provides some idea of how the system works..

I like the idea a lot but am left with some practical questions .  He mentions that financing a start up or take over of a company which the workers can not fund on their own could be aides with government money (a subsidy) like we now do with corporations.. Getting a congress like we have getting that money would be like pulling teeth out of a chicken... Workers managing workers will be interesting and hard to pull off.. If you have had any experience leading workers you know what I am talking about.. I have led a lot , with some success and some failures.  Success or failure depended on the quality of the people involved (parking your own ego ) is a major problem.. I suppose some of the negative comments on the old Soviet system apply to a Mondragon company... One dude says I work harder than him I should get more..

With all the hardships of working this new system it will take courage to begin the process ... But is the only answer know to me at this time. Without something new we get a world of Walmarts the oft pointed to as a success model for Capitalism .

One huge problem with that thinking you end up with this.  Why Walmart shelves are empty.
Although I seldom enter aWalmart I do on occasion drop in mostly to look around.. Sure enough my most recent trip showed a store poorly kept, poorly stoked and damned near devoid of workers....
All borught to you by the greedy bastard who own and run the company ...They heirs are all in the list of the richest people on the planet yet keep cutting service , paying poorly and treating employees like slaves..

Surely we can do better than this.

The EU on the leading edge of austerity insanity   is taking
Europe even lower into depression . Although the evidence is clear in research from the IMF that economic woes are getting worse and the worst are countries who have put in place the strongest austerity programs.

Meantime back in the good ole US of A is header down the same road.. So please open your eyes and believe only what you see fro yourself and nothing of what is being told you...They are all lying.

The header is borrowed from a Dean Baker article jumping on economists for joining the parade to cut Social Security and Medicare.  Always make me feel good when the reputable folks join on the side of arguments I have been making for  years..

It's depressing though when you understand exactly why they are joining the conservatives clambering for cuts in these programs.. They love their grants that keep them alive and their salaries at the top of the scale..

The total nonsense of screaming for cutting the deficits full knowing what the consequence of making the huge cuts to budgets they propose will push the country deeper into the depression we are already in...(yep depression ) .  When you use more reliable numbers from reputable  outlets like Shadow Stats You see just how  deep we are in depression..Numbers look  exactly like those from the 30's.

The big boys tell us there is no inflation and we sit here and wonder if that is true , why are my grocery prices so much higher month by month .

They lie to us about economics , they lie to us about wars, they steal our liberties , spy on our daily lives while the big boys lie , cheat and steal our prosperity.  What to do, What to do..

The United Steelworkers are teaming up with Mondragon styled companies to build new style business ventures here in the good old USA.  Strange bedfellows I agree.  I have been following pure Mondragon businesses for awhile and in the EU they have been quite successful.  They have built a hybred business that kinda bends the Mondragon model some .  It will be  interesting to see if it grows into a new force to be reckoned with.. I hope so.

This series of graphs shows the economic affect of Hugo Chavez's reign.   Call him what you will but I will take performance like depicted and I'll call it whatever you like.

It began in early 1980's .  The destruction of the American working man.  The beginning of the load up of National debt by Ronnie Regan by giving huge tax breaks and a military buildup we did not need.  It also marked the beginning of deregulation of all kinds.  The ball was handed to Clinton who proceeded to give us NAFTA, GATT AND WTO and on his way out deregulated the banks.. On to Bush who further loaded us up with more debt by granting huge tax breaks and lying us into a war or two.. On to Obama who appeared to be the Great Black Hope and till now has just continued along the same lines as the others...

He came into office facing a huge financial downturn mainly caused by the old build up of housing prices to one of the biggest bubbles we have ever made and then of course the eye popping bust of that market bringing with it the destruction of the derivative packages they had rolled out of the mortgages created during the bubble.   After some feeble attempts to get things going again with a package rammed through a reluctant congress he bought a little bump up in the economy..Hidden the great fanfare of saving the auto companies was the little known fact that all new hires by them were brought in at half pay and of course their benefit package was downgraded.

In the meantime the downturn was used by corporations to declare bankruptcies or merge with other companies which of course enabled them to reduce wages and benefits  across the board.. Lots of pension funds were simply stolen and the IRA's touted as the pension plan of the future... Problem being that they will not fill the bill anywhere near to a defined benefit plan..

At the same time the shipping of factories and jobs overseas destroyed up to 8 million jobs here... Still going on today the movement of jobs overseas or at best bringing in foreign workers to fill jobs here for less  money of course.. under the pretense that there was a shortage of qualified workers here..

Of course in financial times such as we are going through now with current business thinking , they are sitting around with tons of money with nothing to do so of course they start buying up one another.. Their funds being helped along by the FED pumping in 90 billion of free money into the economy which the bad guys are using to pump the stock market to new highs... (yep just another bubble about to burst).  All these merger an acquisitions of course destroy jobs and pensions..

A concerted campaign to convince the public that government  employees of all stripes are overpaid and overcompensated has become the theme song of the right particularly and I am sad to say being joined by democrats including the president .

Our first real taste of an Austerity program is being felt right now and of course the most needy are the first being hit... and oh golly gee the military is going to take a hit of pimple size..and they will make it hurt as much as they can...

The following links will give you an idea what is happening if you already didn't know.  LINK 1, LINK 2.

Don't freak out when you go to the above links, they are on a Markist type site but daily they publish stories you need to see... You won't turn into a dirty Markist by reading the site , but it might not be a bad idea to think about what they are saying..

While were thinking Markist check out Richard Wolff, while your at it you might take a look at our hated commie Hugo Chavez accomplished during his time in the saddle  (rest in peace Hugo)
